Over the weekend I had the honor to attend an event put on by Simon Smart called The Crucible (warriorprotocol.) It was for men looking to expand who they are and what they are capable of doing. The significance here is that it was after a phone call I had with Simon that I set out on my quest to concur the Zion100. I’m not going to get into too much detail about the event itself because I wouldn’t want to spoil the experience for all the men that will come into this after me. But I just found it important to share the fact that had I not reached outside myself for new perspective on my life I would have never came up with the idea that has had such a profound impact on my life. Sometimes it is such a subtle shift we need (and other times we need to sink the ship and rebuild) to completely change our lives. For my the power was already inside. It was just buried under layers of bullshit I was lugging around about myself that I didn’t need. So, why I am writing this to you is to turn you on to the idea of seeking someone outside your life that has what you are looking for, and ask them to help you find it. For me, that was the catalyst to change. And that is coming from the guy that almost literally turned around in the McDonald’s drive-through, flicked his cigarette but out of the window and decided to run a 100 mile ultra marathon.
Everyone will have a different experience watching this video but I think it really encompasses Simon’s idea of what he wants to see in the men he works with.
